Social Networking – Lessons Learned 1

SOCIAL NETWORKING requires DIRECT COMMUNICATION

Social Networking is more than just linking and connecting to social sites.

It’s much, much more than strategically placing those cute little icons on your blog or website.

It requires spending time away from your own internet venture to browse the many blogs and sites being put together by others who are doing the same thing.

And along with viewing and reading others people’s stuff, true social networking requires communicating.

Every time I like an article enough to read it, I click the Like or Recommend button. And if I Like it, I might as well Share it by posting its link to my other networks like Facebook and Twitter and other social bookmarking sites that I have joined.

Liking, Sharing, Bookmarking, and Linking are excellent ways to communicate with your virtual neighbors but the very best way to be all that your brand can be is to LEAVE a comment.

Your comment may very well appear on that blogsite and, if you are reading this right now, you will always remember to add your name, website or blog link, and your Twitter handle.  Here’s what my comment signature always looks like:

Kerry L Daley https://kerrydaley.wordpress.com  – songbirdgold on Twitter

Commenting on the works of others is a wonderful act of selflessness almost like a Pay It Forward concept.

So find a cool ‘to do list’  application or utilize your PC’s built in calendar and schedule daily, weekly, monthly,  or whatever works for you,  slots of time to do nothing more than:

Browse, Read, Like, Share, Bookmark, and COMMENT.
